SciViz NYC is a conference that brings visual science communicators, researchers, journalists, artists, and enthusiasts together for an event focused on visualizing science for analysis, education, inspiration, and provocation. I was honored to be invited to present in 2018.

Talk Summary: “Advocating for your Reader” Infographics can give readers the courage to approach subjects they thought they could never understand, helping to convince them that the baffling article they were too intimidated to read is accessible, and is actually really cool! In this talk, we’ll discuss how to help your audience figure out what you’re talking about—and why they should care—by putting yourself in your reader’s shoes.
